“In many Asian cultures, Lunar New Year is a time to celebrate family and heritage, so this Lunar New Year, we’re spotlighting Carolyn Fong, a San Francisco-based Asian American photographer, and her work in the The New York Times.

Photographing different generations of Asian American women, Fong captured a poignant yet powerful message — that in the face of anti-Asian hate crimes, Asian Americans can find strength and resilience by supporting each other and finding community. Pictured below are some of these photos from the article, along with some outtakes.
